UK – Birmingham, West Midlands

On 17th May 2014, GoldCircle, THE_Chris and I travelled on a very cheap flight to Birmingham, for a day of geocaching fun, which consisted of a very early flight, a lot of coffee and 20 geocaches including an event, a virtual and an earthcache. This was also the first time I got to ‘play’ with my new Garmin Oregon 600 – a great test run!

New Street Stationary (GC3QPQK) by SOAPY chickens – Found it! 17th May 2014

This was the first cache of the day after big mugs of coffee at the airport and a train ride in to the centre. It’s a very clever hide and one I’ve seen three times since: in Cambridge, Nice and Milan. I still haven’t seen this type of hide in Ireland and have bought the necessary equipment to make it, but haven’t gotten around to it since.

Fossils from the Emerald Isle (GC41MJF) by mumbo jumbo – Found it! 17th May 2014

An earthcache about fossils from Ireland? Definitely a must-do! The benches in this lovely street are made from Irish limestone which is rich in fossils. Very interesting geology lesson in a nice area of the city.
