Eisenhower Trail and the Dry River Wilderness.There are several campgrounds within driving distance - for example Dry River Campground within Crawford Notch State Park.
The ridge has very good view.
From points south (eg, Boston), take Interstate 93 north.

Grant – I'm doing this loop this weekend, in reverse as we plan to spot bikes at the cog base and it seemed biking from the cog back down to Edmands would be easier than from Edmands up to the cog (i.e., mostly climbing). Drive 5 miles and turn right into the WMNF parking area. Mount Monroe is a 5,372 foot mountain in the Presidential Range of the White Mountains.It is the 4th highest mountain on the 4,000 footers official list of New Hampshire. Very mild (max 11°C on Fri afternoon, min 1°C on Tue night). The descent to the Edmunds Path treated us to a whole new perspective on the ridge we had just traversed. Usually when we go above treeline we can only stay on top for a few minutes because it is to cold to stop moving.
This was a great place to take our first break.
From here we had a perfect view of the ridge we were about to traverse which included Mount Franklin and Mount Eisenhower.
The weather gods seemed to approve of this plan as we arrived at the trailhead at around 9:30 am to find perfectly blue skies. Take exit 35 (just after Franconia Notch) onto rte 3 north (which heads mostly east here) ten miles to route 302 east (which heads mostly southeast). Only 100 yards from the sign we were treated to one of most amazing waterfalls that I have ever seen in the White Mountains.
Looking forward to Mt Eisenhower soon. Take that path on the right if you want to see am amazing set of 2 waterfalls side by side. I particularly like the photo of whichever hiker it is in your group who's lying in the alpine meadow! For example, the
Eisenhower, Monroe, and Washington, from Mt. 116) or the Ammonoosuc/Pemigewasset District office (603-869-2626).
We also planned to add another 1.4 miles by bagging Eisenhower (4,780 ft) in an out and back fashion from the junction with the Edmunds path.

We would then cruise the 2.9 miles down the Edmunds path to where we spotted a car. For example, theAconcagua mountain page has the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits' asparents and is a parent itself to many routes, photos, and Trip Reports. Note that the summit is completely exposed to wind, and this region can have some severe weather. My recent trip to Mount Monroe and Eisenhower is just what I needed.
The Jewell Trail starts out on the opposite side of Base Road from the lower hiker parking lot.
This 9.4 mile semi strenuous loop will show you some of the best above tree line hiking that New Hampshire has to offer.
You will come to a small junction with a 0.3 mile trail leading to Base Station. Continue for 1.1 miles where you will reach Gem Pool and its waterfall.
I can't think of anywhere in the world that I would rather be.Yes I was 1HappyHiker It made me very happy to be back above treeline and on a summit. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from February until November.

Aconcagua mountain page is a child of the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits.' On a sunny day, you can enjoy the view pleasantly. We parked on Mount Clinton Road. The wide, bare summit of Mt Eisenhower offers great views in all directions, including close-ups of Mt Washington and Mt Jefferson.Most trailheads (see below) are on or near rte 302.
